Mission Evangelism became involved in the work of the church of Christ in Romania in 1995. Ted and Barbara Knight made their first trip to Pitesti, Romania in July 1995 and worked closely with the church there until January 2007. Marty Knight was one of three American teachers who conducted the first teaching campaign in Craiova, Romania in July 1997.
Working alongside many others, the Knight family participated in the planting and early growth of six different churches across southern Romania: Pitesti, Craiova, Schitu Golesti, Corbeni, Cioroiasi, and Valea Stanciului.
The church of Christ in Cluj-Napoca was established in the late 1990's by two American missionary families: The Davis family (Dan, Jan, Amanda, and Rachel) and the Jackson family (Phil, Rebecca, Alex, and Sam). Mission Evangelism began providing primary financial support and oversight of the church in January 2007 and continues to do so today.
Dragos and Sorina Vintila, both natives of Pitesti, became Christians in their teens, met at the Pitesti church, and married in 2009. They have worked diligently with the church in Cluj-Napoca since June 2010. Since beginning their work with the church, they have been blessed with three daughters: Ariana, Ruth, and Alisa.
